The Brewers FC Women's squad opened the 2009 spring outdoor campaign Thursday night at Uihlein Soccer Park. As a perfect storm gathered on the horizon, the Brewers put up a spirited performance against league arch rivals Estate. Although the game was evenly matched, the Brewers fell behind midway through the first half. At the halfway mark the girls rallied around the strong play of goalkeeper Chelsie Williamson and retook the field ready to even the score. Unfortunately the storm rolled in and when lightning struck a nearby tree the referee had no choice but to call the match early, much to the disappointment of players and fans alike. "I don't see what the big deal is with lightning," said a visibly upset Corey Krysiak. "It's not like it's dangerous or anything."
